UPDATE: County Road 42 crash kills one, seriously injures another

The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a crash on County Road 42 in Lakeshore that killed a 20-year-old person and seriously injured the driver of a semi-truck.

Around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, police and firefighters from Lakeshore were called to County Road 42 west of Patillo Road after a semi-truck and an SUV collided.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics rushed the driver of the truck to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed until 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
