Hefty contribution allows for new dugout at Bert Lacasse Baseball Park

The Town of Tecumseh has signed off on new in-ground dugouts at Bert Lacasse Baseball Park thanks to a sizeable contribution from St. Clair College.

The baseball park has undergone major renovations since town councillors approved a new grandstand, baseball diamond backstop, improvements to the entrance plaza, and a maintenance garage in March 2022.

The in-ground dugouts were proposed for the ballpark but not in the first phase of renovations.

St. Clair College is contributing $250,000 towards the $375,000 cost, so the town will only need to pay $125,000.

Other improvements include a synthetic turf and improved lighting in the second phase of the project, which could cost $3.1-million to complete.
