Suspect charged after ATM damaged in Windsor

Windsor police have arrested a man after a stolen truck was used to destroy an automated teller machine.

Officers were called to Dougall Avenue near Eugenie Street West at around 10 p.m. Sunday. They found an ATM pulled off its foundation and in pieces.

Police soon learned that a man used a construction truck to ram the ATM multiple times.

A damaged construction water truck was seen nearby. It turned out that it was stolen earlier from Lillian Avenue and Allendale Street.

A suspect's description was obtained, and a 45-year-old man was arrested soon after.

He is charged with two counts of mischief over $5,000, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and attempted theft over $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
