New seating at Alexander Park unveiled

Residents will be able to enjoy a new seating area along Windsor's waterfront thanks to a legacy project of the WindsorEssex Community Foundation.

As part of 40th anniversary celebrations the foundation committed to sponsoring community projects in all Windsor and Essex County municipalities.

"Originally when the WindsorEssex Community Foundation was formed... their focus was to improve upon the City of Windsor's waterfront here," said Tom Touralias, past chair. "From there, the community foundation evolved and got into broader community philanthropic initiatives but its roots are right here on the Windsor waterfront so pretty amazing to be back here 40 years later."

In partnership with the City of Windsor, the Windsor Port Authority and Asamaka Industries four new benches were installed on a concrete pad along with solar lights and new landscaping at Alexander Park.

The total project cost $30,000 plus in-kind donations from the City of Windsor.
