LaSalle waterfront beautification project continues

Construction is underway on the entrance garden to the new LaSalle Landing event centre.

It's the next phase of LaSalle's waterfront revitalization project. The $180,000 project includes pollinator gardens, trees, benches, and lighting.

"We worked with our architect to make sure what we are installing made sense with what our vision is for down here," said LaSalle Mayor Crystal Meloche. "Having the pollinators was really important, having the natural area was really important, so we're really excited for the project."

A provincial grant and community sponsorships paid for the project.

This is one of seven waterfront projects from the WindsorEssex Community Foundation's legacy projects in honour of its 40th anniversary.

The LaSalle Community Fund and the LaSalle Horticultural Society also made donations to cover project costs.

Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2024.
