First-degree murder charges laid in woman's stabbing death

Police in Windsor are investigating the murder of a 67-year-old woman in her home on Tuesday morning.

Officers found Janice Madison with stab wounds inside a home on Southdale Drive around 9:30 a.m.

Paramedics rushed her to the hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead soon after she arrived.

Madison's husband, 62-year-old Wellington Holland, is charged with first-degree murder.

Police need to protect the integrity of their investigation and said they won't release any additional information, but urge anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
