Five arrested in Windsor shoplifting operation

Windsor police say five people are charged and thousands of dollars in merchandise recovered following a joint operation against retail fraud.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, members of the Windsor police's Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Unit worked with loss prevention at Home Depot to identify and arrest shoplifters at the home improvement giant's two Windsor locations.

In all, five people were identified and arrested, three warrants executed, and a total of 11 charges laid.

Over $4,000 in stolen property was recovered.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
