Inquest into 2017 death to be scheduled

The provincial coroner's office has called an inquest into the death of Chad Romanick.

Romanick died on September 15, 2017 while detained by the Windsor Police Service. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest is expected to review the circumstances around Romanicks death. A jury will then make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.

The date and location of the inquest have not been determined.
