Suspect arrested in assault of senior

Windsor police have arrested a man suspected of an assault on a senior last month.

Just before 10 p.m. on November 23, officers were called to Atwater Crescent after a 75-year-old man was assaulted. The victim told police he saw a person rummaging through his recycling bins and there was an altercation.

The victim was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police issued a news release on November 30 seeking information.

On Saturday, a 38-year-old man was arrested around Lauzon Road and Tecumseh Road. He was charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
