Brush fire keeps Windsor firefighters busy

Morning commuters who use Dougall Avenue to get to where they're going had to choose another route on Wednesday morning after a brush fire.

Firefighters arrived on the scene near the Dorwin Plaza on Dougall between Eugenie Street West and Wyandotte Street West just after 4 a.m. It was out three hours later.

Fire Prevention Officer with Windsor Fire and Rescue Services Mike Coste said the fire was large, a few hundred square feet in size.

However, no one was hurt and nearby buildings were safe.

Coste couldn't say what sparked the fire.
