Natural gas leak caused by collision, teen charged

A 19-year-old is facing dangerous driving charges after a vehicle crashed into a commercial building in Walkerville.

Officers responded just after 7 p.m. Friday, to reports that a vehicle had hit a building on Walker Road.

Windsor police determined that a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe was speeding when it collided with another car and then hit the building, causing a natural gas leak. 

The building was evacuated while emergency crews cleared the area.

The driver of the second involved vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
