Windsor police seek stabbing suspect

Police are looking for a suspect connected to a stabbing over the weekend.

Shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a reported stabbing at a motel on Howard Avenue.

When they arrived, police found a 47-year-old man with a stab wound. He was subsequently taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers determined that a verbal fight between the victim and the unknown suspect inside a motel room escalated and became physical. "The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene," police said in a release.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 35 years old, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black tracksuit and a black jacket.

Police are urging business owners and residents near the incident to review any security footage for suspicious activity.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
