Drugs and guns seized from west end motel

The Windsor Police Drugs and Guns Unit seized weapons, including a loaded shotgun, and illegal drugs after a raid at a motel on Sandwich Street on Wednesday.

Around 4:30 p.m. members of the Emergency Service Unit seized a loaded 12GA shotgun, a .22 caliber air rifle, and bear spray. They also recovered $1,135, 4.1 grams of crack cocaine, and 15.6 grams of fentanyl.

Three people were arrested and charged.

A 49-year-old has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm without a licence, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of a loaded regulated firearm.

A 35-year-old is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm without a licence, unsafe storage of a firearm and failure to comply with a release order.

Finally, a 37-year-old was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm without holding a licence, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, and unsafe storage of a firearm.

None of the charges have been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
