Windsor police seek man in alleged weapons incident (VIDEO)

Windsor police are looking for tips after a man threatened someone with a weapon in an east-end neighbourhood Thursday.

Officers were called around noon to Cora Greenwood Drive off Little River Boulevard. Police learned that the suspect knocked on the door of a home and mentioned there was a delivery. When the resident opened the door, the man allegedly pulled a gun out of his backpack and pointed it.

The homeowner immediately shut the door on the man, who ran away. No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, 20 to 22 years old, 5’ 8”, and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black toque, a grey winter coat, black cargo pants, and black mountain boots. He carried a black backpack.

The public is asked to see if they recognize the man and call Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit if they do, at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
