Tilray closes acquisition of Truss Beverage

It's a done deal.

Tilray Brands, the cannabis grower based out of Leamington, has bought the remaining stake of Truss Beverage Co. from Molson Coors Beverage Company.

It announced last August it was in the process of buying the remaining 57.5 per cent of the company it didn't already own.

"Truss has elevated our market share and positions us at the forefront of adult-use beverages," said Tilray Canada President Blair MacNeil. "We are now strengthening our Canadian operations to be better positioned to further expand our business and consumer base through new brand and product innovation, and by serving new consumer segments and occasions."

Since acquiring Truss, Tilray has moved its cannabis beverage operations to London, and plans to operate the Truss Beverage facility in Belleville.

Tilray's combined brand portfolio now includes the cannabis beverages Broken Coast, Original Stash, Bake Sale, and RIFF.

Earlier, the company acquired eight alcohol beverage brands including Shock Top, Blue Point, Breckenridge, and 10 Barrel, making it the fifth-largest craft beer producer in the U.S.
