ERCA pushes for extra caution around waterways

The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement lasting until Monday afternoon.

Previous and current wet weather, saturated ground, and melting snow prompted the statement, with rainfall amounts falling just short of Flood Watch thresholds.

The conservation authority warned Sunday that people, pets, and livestock should be extra cautious around or avoid slippery banks and fast-moving water. Standing water can also present unseen hazards.

The ERCA said they will continue to monitor the situation and update the public if anything changes.
