Windsor Police take over Partington fire investigation

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services has handed over its investigation into a house fire in the city's west end to the Windsor Police Service.

Firefighters arrived at the home on Partington Avenue between University Avenue West and Wyandotte Street West around 4 a.m. on Monday.

No one was hurt, but the fire destroyed the interior of the vacant home.

Officials suspect the fire was set intentionally and the cost of damage is estimated to at $400,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
