Driver dies in Amherstburg collision

Windsor police are investigating a fatal collision that happened in Amherstburg Tuesday morning.

Around 7:15 a.m., police were called to the intersection of County Road 20 and County Road 9.

Investigators determined a pickup going eastbound on County Road 20 tried to turn left onto County Road 9 and collided with an oncoming SUV.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital in serious condition and later succumbed to their injuries.

A short time after the first collision, another eastbound truck struck the rear of the first pickup truck. No one was injured in the second collision.
