Windsor firefighters attend two fires in four hours

Tuesday was a busy morning for firefighters in Windsor with two fires in the city.

The first call was just before 2:30 a.m. to a vacant house on Brant Street near Glengarry Avenue.

The house is vacant, and no one was hurt, but the fire caused $20,000 in damages.

The cause wasn't determined.

The second fire was four hours later on Pierre Avenue between Wyandotte Street East and Assumption Street.

An unattended candle caused $30,000 in damages.

No one was hurt, but four people were displaced.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
