Drug and gun investigation leads to arrest

An investigation by the Windsor Police Drugs and Guns Unit resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and a handgun.

On February 14, police arrested an individual suspected of trafficking rugs between Windsor and Toronto.

The suspect was found at a home on Banwell Road. Officers found fentanyl powder and oxycodone in their possession.

After the arrest, officers searched the home on Banwell and seized MDMA, fentanyl, and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $12,245. Officers also seized a loaded handgun, three digital scales and drug packaging material.

A 28-year-old was charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance, possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and five weapons offences. The charges have not been proven in court.
