Essex appoints new Deputy Fire Chief

The Town of Essex and Essex Fire and Rescue Services has a new deputy fire chief.

Jacey Brockman is a third-generation firefighter and has been with the fire service in Essex since 2001.

His career began as a volunteer firefighter at Station 2. He's served as a fire captain, prevention and public education officer, and most recently, assistant deputy fire chief.

He also worked as a paramedic with the Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Services.

"Jacey's extensive experience and exceptional work ethic will serve him well in his new role," said Fire Chief Jason Pillon. "His knowledge of fire administration, fire ground command, firefighter safety, fire operations, fire prevention and public education will be a great asset to the team."

Jacey graduated St. Clair College's Primary Care Paramedic and Mould Maker Certification programs.

His appointment took effect on February 6.
