High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Windsor police say they have arrested a youth after an assault over the weekend.Officers were called around 2:30 p.m. Saturday to the area of Howard Avenue and the E.C. Row Expressway. They learned that an 18-year-old man had gotten into an argument with a 15-year-old boy who was shooting a cap gun inside a business.The teen then allegedly sprayed a substance in the face of the 18-year-old and ran from the scene.The victim suffered minor injuries.Police immediately found the suspect running north on Howard Avenue and arrested him.The suspect, who will not be identified, has been charged with assault with a weapon and administering a noxious substance.The charges have not been proven in court.
