Suspect arrested in sexual assault investigation

Windsor police have a person in custody after a woman was sexually assaulted during a break-in.

Officers were called to a west Windsor home around 11 p.m. Monday. They learned a man broke into the home, sexually assaulted the woman living there, and then took off.

The 26-year-old was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators say the victim and suspect are known to each other.

The suspect was arrested outside a home on Highland Avenue. He was charged with sexual assault with a weapon and break and enter to commit an indictable offence.

Police did not release the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
