French Catholic school board appoints new Superintendent of Education

A graduate of Ecole secondaire catholique l'Essor in Tecumseh and the University of Windsor is the new Superintendent of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence.

Nicole Laroque assumes her new role on April 29.

The school board provides French language education to almost 9,500 students at 23 elementary and eight secondary schools in Southwestern Ontario.

Larocque will oversee the implementation of the kindergarten to Grade 6 Student Success Plan and is responsible for enacting the Action Plan for Success in Mathematics.

"Nicole Laroque has an excellent pedagogical background, unparalleled leadership skills, and a deep conviction in the development and success of every student," said Director of Education Carolyn Bastien.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
