Spots fill up fast to watch solar eclipse

If you were hoping to see Monday's solar eclipse from Point Pelee National Park, you may be out of luck.

The park announced on Twitter at 11:27 a.m. that it was at capacity and would allow no more visitors.

The park is one of the best vantage points to watch the eclipse because it is in the path of totality.

It's not the only spot. Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island issued a guide before the big event.

Holiday Beach Conservation Area and Hillman Marsh Conservation Area are hosting events. The Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary is open until 6 p.m., while Colchester Beach hosts experts from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

The full list of events can be found here.

Several other events sold out early, including Soar into the Eclipse at Cooper's Hawk Vineyard, the Eclipse Viewing Party at Oxley Estate Winery, and Total Eclipse Sailing on the Pelee Islander II.
