City sports fields and diamonds to open in May

Now that spring has sprung, the City of Windsor is working to prepare the municipality's sports fields and baseball diamonds for the season ahead.

Until they open officially, residents should stay off the fields and diamonds. City crews are conducting pre-season maintenance, and the turf needs time to mature.

The city reminds residents they could be fined for using the fields without a permit.

City staff hope to open baseball and softball diamonds on May 4 and May 11 for all other fields.

Those with specific questions about sports fields, permits and permissions can call the Seasonal and Sports Facilitator at 519-253-2300 ext. 2714.
