Overall housing starts down in Windsor last month

The number of housing starts in Windsor last month was down 8 per cent compared to March 2023.

That's according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's latest report.

March saw a drop in multi-unit starts. There were 34 in March 2023 and only 22 last month.

Single-detached home starts increased by 57 per cent. After starting construction on 14 houses last March, those starts increased to 22.

Overall, housing starts were down 5 per cent in Ontario and up 16 per cent across Canada.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
