Three charged in 2022 death of Windsor woman

Windsor police have announced charges against the parents and personal support worker of a woman who died two years ago.

Almost two years ago to the day, on April 19, 2022, officers were called to a home on Meadowbrook Lane on a report of an unresponsive person. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Major Crimes Unit began a comprehensive investigation into what happened and determined that there were sufficient grounds to charge the parents and PSW in the death.

All three are charged with manslaughter and failure to provide the necessities of life. The names are not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
