Driver injured following collision on Windsor street

A woman faces a careless driving charge following a scary multi-vehicle crash in Windsor early Tuesday.

Residents on Bruce Avenue between Giles Boulevard West and Clinton Street woke around 5 a.m. to the sound of a vehicle slamming into cars parked on the street.

When police arrived, they found at least five damaged vehicles parked along the street and one on its side.

Police say the driver lost control just before striking the parked cars and rolling her vehicle.

The 55-year-old driver was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Bruce Avenue was closed between Clinton and Giles West for about four hours while crews cleaned up the crash and police wrapped up their investigation.
