GECDSB utilizes mobile classroom for Holodomor education

Students at the Greater Essex County District School Board will get a chance to learn more about the history of Holodomor this spring.

A mobile classroom will share historical information about the genocidal starvation of Ukrainians in 1932-1933.

Between May 1 and May 9, the mobile classroom will attend five high schools, Leamington District Secondary School, Essex District High School, Tecumseh Vista Academy, W.F. Herman Academy, and Belle River District High School.

Starting in September 2025, education on the Holodomor famine will be a mandatory part of Grade 10 student's history course.
