Windsor man charged with sexual abuse of minor

A 27-year-old man has been arrested following a child sexual abuse investigation by Windsor police.

The Major Crimes Unit recently received a complaint from a girl under 16, who said she was sexually assaulted.

"Investigators learned that the victim had been befriended by the suspect at a business in the 800 block of Wyandotte Street East," read a tweet from Windsor police. "The suspect then drove the victim to a nearby residence, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted."

Officers arrested Preetkumar Shah near that location.

He is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference with a person under 16.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
