Teen charged in connection to armed robbery

Windsor police have arrested a 17-year-old boy following an armed robbery in the city's west end.

Just before 9 p.m. Friday, police were called to a convenience store in the area of California Avenue and Girardot Street.

When officers arrived they learned that the suspect had entered the store and demanded money at gunpoint. When the store employee refused to comply, the suspect fled the scene on foot, police said.

No injuries have been reported following the incident.

After viewing the store's surveillance footage, investigators found and arrested the suspect nearby. He has been charged with robbery with a weapon.

The suspect in this case can't be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
