Four charged in underage prostitution probe

Windsor police say four men have been charged with soliciting sex with what they thought were underage girls.

Windsor investigators teamed up last month with the OPP's Intelligence-Led Joint Forces Strategy Anti-Human Trafficking Unit to set up an undercover prostitution investigation.

"Through this joint operation, we successfully targeted individuals who not only solicited youth online but were prepared to move forward and commit those acts," said Windsor police Inspector David DeLuca.

Police set up a profile on a popular website and responded to requests from people looking to exchange money or favours for sexual acts.

The suspects agreed with the undercover officers on a price and a meeting spot. Investigators then moved in and arrested each suspect.

The suspects ranged in age from 28 to 61, were from Essex, Windsor, and no fixed address. Each is charged with obtaining sexual services from a minor.

The charges have not been proven in court.
