Tents put up on UWindsor campus

Tents have been erected on the University of Windsor's campus turning the dubbed liberation zone into an encampment.

The Palestinian Solidarity Group is urging the University of Windsor to divest from companies doing business with the Israeli military and academically boycott Israeli entities.

"We implore the University of Windsor to honour its commitment to decolonisation, echoing the same moral compass that guided its stance against South African apartheid in the 1980s," stated a post on the group's Instagram account.

The "liberation zone" was established on campus on Thursday, however, tents were not put up until Friday evening.

"This encampment is not a sprint but a marathon, and the solidarity of our community remains crucial under any and all circumstances."
