Alleged impaired driver crashes into marked police cruiser

A 39-year-old was arrested and charged after a collision involving a Windsor police cruiser Tuesday morning.

Just before 5 a.m. officers in a marked police car were stationed at a red light at the intersection of Ellis Street and Ouellette Avenue when is was struck by a Dodge Ram.

The two officers had minor physical injuries.

Officers report the driver showed signs consistent with impairment.

The man from Saskatoon Saskatchewan was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a vehicle.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
