Suspect sought in University Avenue robbery

Windsor police have released surveillance images of a man shown robbing a business west of the downtown core.

It happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at a convenience store on University Avenue West near Crawford Avenue. Police say the suspect brandished a knife before taking cash from the register.

The employee on duty was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a White male in his 30s. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gloves, and a blue face mask.

Anyone with information should call the Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips should be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
