Driver involved in hit and run facing charges

A man out for a rollerblade with his dog is recovering after being hit by a car on Monday.

Police arrived at the Parent Avenue and Riverside Drive area around 8:30 p.m.

They learned the 26-year-old had a heated argument with a motorist just before the collision. The driver of the grey Chrysler 300 then allegedly turned his vehicle around and struck the victim from behind before leaving the scene.

Later that evening, the motorist contacted police to report his involvement in the crash. Officers arrested him at his home.

The 25-year-old is facing charges of assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and leaving the scene of an accident.
