Topless break-in suspect arrested

A suspect who stood out in photos, not for what he wore, but for what he wasn't wearing, is now in Windsor Police custody.

Police issued an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Ronald Vandeven just over a week ago in connection to a residential break-and-enter on Dougall Avenue on May 1.

That evening, investigators were called to the home on Dougall between Elliott Street West and Erie Street West after someone took multiple items.

No one was home, and there were no signs of forced entry, but there was surveillance video of the suspect, a bearded man wearing dark-coloured sweatpants and no shirt.

On Thursday morning, police posted a tweet on X, formerly Twitter, saying officers arrested Vandeven on an outstanding warrant.
