Suspect wanted in shooting investigation

Windsor police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection to a shooting earlier this week.

Police were called to Erie Street around Louis Avenue around 4 a.m. Sunday for reports of gunshots.

Investigators learned a verbal fight broke out between two men on foot and several people in a silver Ford Escape. When the S.U.V. drove away, one of the men took a firearm from his waistband and fired several shots at the vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

Officers have identified the shooting suspect as Heydar Alanuz from LaSalle. He's a 23-year-old man of Middle Eastern decent, 5'10" tall, about 160 pounds, with brown eyes, brown hair, and a full beard.

Alanuz is wanted on multiple charges including discharging a firearm, possession of a weapon, and failure to comply with a release order.

Anyone with information on Alanuz’s whereabouts is asked to call the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4830.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
