Public meeting on Thursday about new school in Lakeshore

The Greater Essex County District School Board is gathering public input about a new school in Lakeshore.

The school, on Rourke Line in Emeryville, will accommodate 582 students, taking enrollment pressure off of other schools in Lakeshore.

Right now, the project is in the planning and design phase. The board was awarded $13-million from the Ministry of Education in February 2022.

The meeting is on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lakeshore Discovery School on I.C. Roy Drive. Senior administrators, architects, and representatives from the board's capital projects department will be there to update the public and answer questions.

The board has also released an online survey for those who can not attend the meeting.

The survey will remain open until 4 p.m. on Monday, June 17.
