Police charge man who allegedly asked teen for sexual favours

A 47-year-old man who allegedly befriended a 13-year-old, requested explicit photos from them, and offered money for sexual favours faces charges.

Windsor Police launched an investigation last Saturday when they learned the suspect befriended the teen at a basketball court earlier this month. The requests for photos and propositions came in the following weeks.

The suspect faces possession of child pornography for an unlawful purpose and invitation to sexual touching from a child under 16 years old charges.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The Major Crimes Unit is still investigating the incident and asks anyone with information to call 519-255-6700 ext. 4830.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
