Public school board hoists the flag for Pride

Pride flags will soon fly at all public elementary and high schools in the region for Pride Month in June.

The Greater Essex County District School Board will hoist the rainbow flag outside of its offices on Park Street at 10 a.m. on Friday.

"The GECDSB annually honours the contributions to society of the 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and acknowledges the challenges that are faced, and continue to be confronted, for safety and inclusivity in our communities," said the school board.

Schools will also hold events and activities throughout the month to celebrate diversity.
