Suspended driver cited for stunt driving in LaSalle

A driver who was not supposed to be behind the wheel has been busted in LaSalle.

LaSalle police say the driver was stopped shortly after midnight on Thursday on Front Road, clocked at 98 kilometres per hour in a 50-kilometre-per-hour zone.

The driver was ticketed for stunt driving, but it turned out that she should not have been driving in the first place. Police found out she was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code and had a suspended licence.

The 31-year-old from Amherstburg was arrested and charged accordingly. Her vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days, and an additional licence suspension of 30 days was issued.

She will have a chance to respond to the charges at a future court date.
