University of Windsor opens spring convocation on Tuesday

The University of Windsor will recognize its graduates this week.

The school will hold its Spring Convocation starting Tuesday. Sessions spanning four days will be held at the Toldo Lancer Centre.

Over 5,000 undergraduate and post-graduate students will be recognized in nine sessions.

"This year's convocation holds special significance as it honours graduates who faced the challenge of missing their high school graduations due to the pandemic," said Registrar Ray Darling. "Their journey, defined by dedication, growth, and resilience, is a testament to their remarkable perseverance and our unwavering commitment to academic excellence."

Three people will be receiving honorary degrees this week. They are Gail Donner, professor emerita and former dean at the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto; Allan Gregg, co-founder of Decima Research and the Strategic Counsel, and Wanda Thomas Bernard, Canadian Senator for Nova Scotia.

Parking is free around the Toldo Lancer Centre for graduates and attendees, but it is recommended that they arrive early to allow time to find parking.

Those without tickets may watch the ceremonies via live stream from the marketplace at the Toldo Centre.

Complete information about the Spring Convocation can be found on U of W's official website.
