High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Windsor police officer is charged with sexual assault after an investigation by the province's police watchdog.The Special Investigations Unit started an investigation in January after the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://windsornewstoday.ca/windsor/news/2024/01/16/siu-investigating-allegations-of-sexual-assault-involving-windsor-police-officer">Windsor Police Service notified it of the alleged offences</a>."The SIU investigation found sufficient evidence to proceed with sexual assault charges against the officer in relation to incidents involving a woman between 2011 and 2015," stated a news release from the agency.Staff Sergeant Ken Price faces four counts of sexual assault. He will appear in court in July.The SIU is an independent government agency responsible for investigating incidents involving police officers throughout the province.
