Change in leadership at Windsor/Essex Humane Society

There's been a change of leadership at the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society.

The board confirmed Melanie Coulter is no longer the executive director after 16 years of service.

"The Board is very grateful for Melanie’s many years of service and wishes her all the best going forward. There will be no further comment on the reasons for her departure, as we do not comment publicly on employment matters," read a statement from the board.

Rob Moroz has been named the Interim Executive Director and will start on July 8, 2024.

The board is starting the process of looking for a permanent executive director.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
