Windsor police report increase in tools stolen from vehicles

If you keep tools in your vehicle, Windsor police have some tips for you to keep them secure.

Investigators have reported increased calls about tools stolen from parked vehicles.

Police provided these tips.

Keep your vehicle locked, even if you're running somewhere for a minute. Keep all valuables, including tools, out of view.

Record all the serial numbers from your tools, or use an engraving pen to mark them.

Keep all of your tools in a secured lockbox.

When you leave your vehicle, park it in the garage with a locked door. If you must park in a driveway or street, do it in a well-lit area.

To report an auto theft or property stolen from a vehicle, call the Windsor police non-emergency line immediately at (519) 258-6111. Anonymous tipsters should call Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
