Windsor officer charged after refusing to provide breath sample

Windsor police say an off-duty officer is suspended with pay following a traffic stop Thursday.

Patrol officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Jefferson Boulevard and North Service Drive East. The officers suspected the driver was impaired, but police say the driver refused to undergo a roadside breathalyzer.

Police say Constable Sean Rhoads was arrested and charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.

The officer is suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

The charge has not been proven in court. Windsor police say no further information will be released as the matter is now in the courts.
