Suspect charged in Saturday night stabbing

Windsor police have arrested a suspect in a weekend stabbing.

The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday on Windsor Avenue near Giles Boulevard East. When officers reached the location, they found a man with several stab wounds.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police learned that two men were involved in a fight, with one of them stabbing the other before fleeing.

The 34-year-old man was arrested on Sunday in the area of Wyandotte Street East and Mercer.

He is charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and breach of a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
