UWindsor president taking medical leave

University of Windsor President Doctor Robert Gordon is taking a medical leave of absence.

An email sent to the university community said he would be on leave for about one month, effective immediately.

Emeritus Bruce Tucker will be stepping in as interim president. Tucker is on the Board of Governors, a former associate vice-president, and former president of the Windsor University Faculty Association.

The university community has been asked to refrain from contacting Gordon.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
